Высокая скорость пересылки пакетов (до 1080 млн пакетов в секунду), общая ёмкость коммутации 2,56 Тбит/с и дополнительная конфигурация сетевой карты с 4 портами 40 GE (QSFP+) гарантируют высокую гибкость устройств S6720-EI. Отлично подойдут в качестве базовых коммутаторов или коммутаторов агрегации в сетях кампусного типа крупных организаций для поддержки работы серверных приложений, требующих высокой пропускной способности.  

Для обеспечения надёжной и безопасной работы реализована схема резервирования модулей питания постоянного и переменного тока 1+1, а также применяются механизмы гарантии качества обслуживания QoS. Дополнительная гибкость обеспечивается за счёт применения портов QSFP+ 40 Гбит/с, поддерживающих технологию стекирования для передачи на большие расстояния.
